If you have a mopar 4.7 V8 your rockers can just fall out. My parents have been driving their truck like this for months wondering why it has a check engine light and a misfire code.
I pulled a exhaust valve cover and found a rocker just sitting there.

Yeah, not the best setup. A good friend has a 2000 Grand Cherokee 4.7, and the rockers are shot. Still drives it, as he and his family cannot afford to repair or to sell it.

Well his father recently lost his pretty well paying job in a very niche field and they are saving up just in case they have to move, that’s why they don’t want to fix the Jeep.
